What we collect (summary)
- Account & profile (e.g., name, email, country/city); optional avatar.
- User content (posts, messages, listings, events, housing info).
- Usage/device diagnostics (aggregated); optional location for nearby results.
Security & storage
- Encryption in transit and at rest where supported; access controls and logging.
- Least‑privilege access for staff and periodic security reviews.
- Backups are encrypted and retained on rolling schedules for disaster recovery.
Compliance
- We align with GDPR/UK GDPR principles (lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity/confidentiality, accountability).
- Support for data subject rights: access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection (where applicable).
- CCPA/CPRA and other local laws honored where applicable (no sale of personal data).
International transfers
Data may be processed outside your country. We use contractual safeguards and industry security to protect transfers.
Deletion policy
When you delete your account in the app (More tab → Delete Account at the bottom) or email contact@chowrasta.app, we permanently remove your profile and user‑generated content from Chowrasta production systems. Backups age out on regular rotation, and any legally required retention (e.g., fraud logs) is minimized and segregated. Content already shared to other users' devices or third‑party services is outside our control.
Processors
We use reputable infrastructure and service providers under data‑processing agreements. Details available upon request.
